Well this past weekend was very exciting, but really went by way too fast (as they always do). I joined a group of friends on a trip up to the Forks, Maine, population 35. We had quite a few laughs on our trip...I think we were laughing the entire trip, when we weren't sleeping or driving. I had to return to using some film for the rafting trip on the lake, so needless to say, I wasn't too happy with some of the photos because I couldn't control the shutter speed, ISO, f stop, etc. But alas, after the rafting, we hiked over to Moxie Falls, Maine's highest waterfall. So there I was able to grab some good shots. I did see a few bald eagles, and a moose, but as luck would have it, I didn't have my camera at the ready...eh well. You win some, you lose some. The first photo is from the company we went with, I thought it was a good group photo. (That's me in the front with the hippo tube...don't ask). As always, enjoy the photos!
Yup, that's me in front, with the rest of the Di Crew
I forgot when you hike down a hill, you have to hike back up...I was tired.
Moxie Falls
Victory Falls, this one was on the river, so thus the film image

Summer Newport Trip
Once again, Steph and I found ourselves at Newport. This time we were actually down there to go see Joel McHale of The Soup (he was hysterical!) and we wondered around Fort Adams and Brenton Point instead of the Mansions. Since this was the second gorgeous weekend of the summer, it was quite packed full of people (all of who were very white, there was an enormous glare...just kidding). Also down in Newport were the kites, which colored the sky beautifully. Anyways, enjoy the pics!
I love architecture that begins to fall apart. You get to see the guts, and the real character of the building
Wind surfing...I'm guessing he was tired afterwards
View of Pell Bridge
Lots of iron gates...probably to keep out the Brits eh?
The water was still a little cold...
The sky filled with kites....it was really quite amazing that no one got tangled up

Fourth of July '09
Well I hope everyone had an enjoyable Fourth of July. The weather in Maine was a little crazy, sunny in the morning, rain in the afternoon, thunder storms at night, and repeat. In between the wet weather, we gave Bandit some swimming lessons, and what a fun time that was. He never stopped swimming so we had to hold him on the shore so he could catch his breath! The fireworks aren't the typical big shows out on the lake, but they're still great to watch. And there was also the camp fire and smores, and just a fun time with the family. Boat rides and all. Anyho, enjoy the pics and hopefully the sun will come back out for the weekend eh?
I ran out after the rain for this one.
Off fishing...seeing a little sun
Yay, fireworks
Quickly caught a glimpse of the bald eagle on the lake. I think he's got a trout.
Trying to convince a dog to jump off a dock is no easy task. (Steph took this one)
Cozy by the fire
One of the loons on the lake
Gram and Bandit...ready for a boat ride
What's that?
Ahhh...the sun!
Cody from next door enjoying the water
